The contest, under the leadership of its founder and director Valérie Boucher, who is herself closely associated with the up-and-coming talent in the world of art, focuses on discovering and showcasing the work of young contemporary artists as well as on providing them with guidance and support in their future careers. 

ArtContest’s mission is to contribute to the development of emerging artists and to stimulate reflection on their artistic practices and positions in present-day society.    

Thus, ArtContest offers a framework wherein artists are encouraged to reflect, in particular through intercultural exchanges, on the specific role of their commitment to the arts.
